Virudhunagar Hindu Nadar's Senthikumara Nadar College provides various programs at UG, PG and Doctoral levels. These include subjects such as B.A., B.Com, M.A., M.Sc., M.Com, M.Phil, Ph. D., MCA Degree Course, and more. Entry to such programmes is merit-based only.

Education leave alone higher education was a luxury and even dream for the poor of Virudhunagar region till 1940s. In the background of this fact our town the distributing center of the generous and liberal merchants of a few years ago-contained a few, a very few generous and liberal merchants, waiting for a college of their own. June, 1947.The proposal for a college at Virudhunagar was that the Nadar Mahajana Sangam met at Kovilpatti.
One of the deligates RAO BAHADUR M.S.P.SENTHIKUMARA NADARR present in the dias manufested that he would announce to the public that he will donate an amount of Rupees Two lakhs to establish a college in Virudhunagar. Immediately a committee was appointed, to facilitate the getting of a college started. There were Thiru P.S.Chidambara Nadar, Thiru V.V.Ramasamy Nadar and Thiru M.S.Periasamy Nadar as its members. A college, which received the bequest, was to be established right away by this committee and named after the donor.” Thiru M.S.Periasamy Nadar the donor, was kind enough to release and donate one hundred and fifty acres of land on the Aruppukottai road to the college. The 11th August 1947 saw the birth of the Virudhunagar Senthikumara Nadar College. With number of interested people, a small band formed a committee, with Mr.W.P.A.Soundra pandian Nadar as President, Mr.P.S.Chidambara Nadar as Vice - President, Mr. V.V.Ramasamy as Secretary and Correspondent and Mr.M.S;Periasamy Nadar as Treasurer to steer the reins of the new institution.
Rao Bahadur Senthikumara Nadar was made the Patron of the college. Hindu Nadar Mahamai Tharappu established the college in 1948. The two later Managing Boards of this college were composed of sturdy, plain, successful business men. They nurtured the nascent institution. The college grew miraculously under their genial and munificent trusteeship and germinated into a post graduate institution in 1967. Today after 70 years of its establishment, VHNSN College has made a steady and dedication progress in its journey adding stars to its glory and milestones to its history.
