The MBBS programme at ACS begins with pre-clinical years covering foundational subjects such as Anatomy, Physiology, and Biochemistry, combined with early exposure to the basics of community health and professional ethics, giving students a strong scientific base. This is followed by para-clinical years, including disciplines such as Pathology, Microbiology, Pharmacology, Forensic Medicine, and related subjects, which help students understand disease mechanisms, diagnostics, and therapeutics, with theory supplemented by lab work and module-based learning. As students progress, they enter the clinical phase where they rotate through various departments — General Medicine, Surgery, Paediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Orthopaedics, ENT, Ophthalmology, Dermatology, Psychiatry and community medicine, among others — spending substantial time in wards, outpatient departments, operation theatres, emergency units, and speciality clinics. Practical training includes patient history taking, physical examinations, diagnostic interpretation, assisting in procedures, case discussions, and participation in the management of real cases under supervision. The final phase is a one-year mandatory rotating internship in the attached hospital, where students consolidate their knowledge and gain hands-on experience across all core departments, preparing them for medical practice, postgraduate studies, or further specialisation.
