The MBBS course at SLMCH begins with foundational pre‑clinical subjects such as Anatomy, Physiology, and Biochemistry, delivered through lectures, lab sessions, dissections, and foundational medical education modules. During clinical postings, students take patient histories, examine patients, assist in diagnostics and treatments, attend ward rounds, observe surgeries and emergency care, and participate in patient management under supervision. The final year culminates in a compulsory one‑year rotating internship across departments, giving students hands-on experience in patient care, emergency services, diagnostics, and hospital workflows. By the end of the course, graduates are expected to be well-versed in both theory and practice — prepared for clinical responsibilities, postgraduate training, or further specialisation.
