The B.Pharm program not only comprises academic studies but also contains an exposure to medical and clinical orientation in terms of pharmacy-related medical tests and evaluations. These exams measure a student's knowledge of the interactions drugs have with the human body, the development of a disease, and ensure that medication use is safe and effective. Medical subjects such as Human Anatomy & Physiology, Pathophysiology, Pharmacology, and Clinical Pharmacy have elements of both examinations and practical tests that are directly related to medical sciences.

The duration of the B Pharmacy course is 4 years, covering internal and university examinations that require students to test their knowledge of medical subjects relevant to pharmacy practice. The exams in the later semesters of pharmacology, pharmacotherapeutics, and pharmacy practice are more concerned with drug mechanisms, adverse effects, and clinical application. These medical tests are vital in defining competencies of a pharmacist in hospitals, clinics, and health care systems and any impact of failure that will end up in abrogation of patient safety, drug efficacy, and rational therapy.

The Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Karnataka, conducted the B.Pharmacy (B.Pharm) university examinations for all semesters (I to VIII) in accordance with the academic calendar approved by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI).
