CBSE Class 12 Result 2026

The Central Board of Secondary Education, better known as CBSE, has officially declared the Class 12 Board Results 2026. And, since morning, students across the country have been refreshing result pages every few minutes, checking DigiLocker repeatedly, or asking friends if the site is working yet. That result-day panic and excitement combination… it happens every single year.

This year, the overall pass percentage for CBSE Class 12 stands at 85.20%. Compared to last year’s 88.39%, there has been a noticeable drop of around 3.19 percentage points. More than 17 lakh students appeared for the examination, and over 15 lakh students successfully passed. (The Times of India)

Students can now check their marks through the official CBSE result websites, DigiLocker, and UMANG. Heavy traffic was reported on some portals shortly after the result announcement, which isn’t surprising at all. (The Economic Times)

Like previous years, girls performed better overall in the CBSE Class 12 exams. The girls’ pass percentage reached 88.86%, while the boys recorded 82.13%. The gap between the two categories this year stands at around 6.73 percentage points. (The Indian Express)

At the same time, more than 94,000 students scored above 90%, while over 17,000 students crossed the 95% mark. So, despite the overall percentage dropping a bit this year, a large number of students still managed exceptionally high scores. (The Economic Times)

Region-wise, Thiruvananthapuram emerged as the top-performing CBSE region with a pass percentage of around 95.62%. Chennai and Bengaluru followed closely behind. Delhi, interestingly, didn’t make it into the top three this time. (The Economic Times)

Kendriya Vidyalayas once again reported one of the strongest performances nationally, crossing 98% pass percentage for another consecutive year. Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas also performed extremely well. (The Times of India)

Students can follow these steps to download their marksheets online:

1. Visit the official CBSE result website.
2. Open the “CBSE Class 12 Result 2026” link.
3. Enter your roll number, school number, and admit card ID.
4. Click submit.
5. Your marksheet will appear on the screen.
6. Download and save it for future admissions and counselling processes.

DigiLocker and UMANG are also available as alternate options in case the official website becomes slow due to traffic. (The Economic Times)

• Subject-wise marks
• Grades
• Total marks
• Qualifying status
• Official CBSE authentication

Students are advised to carefully verify all details after downloading the marksheet. Even small spelling mistakes should ideally be reported early through schools or regional CBSE offices.

CBSE is expected to begin the re-evaluation and verification process soon after the result declaration. Students who are not satisfied with their marks will likely get the option to apply online for rechecking or answer sheet verification.

Meanwhile, compartment or supplementary examinations are expected around July 2026 for students who could not clear one or more subjects. (The Times of India)

For many students, this result is now the starting point for college admissions, CUET counselling, entrance exams, scholarship applications, and all those “what next?” conversations at home.
