The ICAR AIEEA (All India Entrance Examination for Admission) is a national-level examination organized by the National Testing Agency (NTA) annually under the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). It provides admission to undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG) and doctoral (PhD) programs in agriculture and allied sciences.
Students opting to pursue UG are required to pass 10+2 with a minimum aggregate of more than 50% in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Mathematics/Agriculture. They are also required to pursue either Bachelor or Master’s program to do PG and PhD programs, respectively.
ICAR AIEEA is not mandatory in all institutions, but is required to be eligible for admission in all ICAR-affiliated universities in the ICAR quota. Many leading agricultural universities of India undertake the counselling process.
The ICAR AIEEA exam is conducted in online (CBT) mode. It comprises multiple-choice questions (MCQs), for which four marks are awarded for correct answers and one mark is deducted for incorrect answers.
After clearing the ICAR AIEEA exam, students can appear for B.Sc. (Hons) in Agriculture, horticulture, forestry, sericulture, and fisheries, as well as M.Sc. and Ph.D. programs in related subjects.
