IIM Bangalore UG Admission 2026: Process, Fees & Tips

IIMB Bangalore is introducing two UG courses for the academic year 2026-27 - BSc (Hons) in Economics and BSc (Hons) in Data Science. Students are required to appear for the IIMB UG admission test to join the institution to pursue the UG course right after 10+2. The exam will be conducted on 13th December 2025, followed by a few rounds of interviews. For the upcoming academic year, the intake is for 80 students.

The IIMB UG admission test is a gateway to BSc (Hons) in Data Science and BSc (Hons) in Economics courses, providing students with theory, practical, and global exposure. The following is an overview:

BSc (Hons.) in Economics

It is a full-time program that includes an economics minor that focuses on training algorithms, stochastic processes, data structures, and psychology, with applied business learning.

• Microeconomics
• Macroeconomics
• Econometrics
• Data Analysis
• Public Policy
• Global Trade
• Financial and Behavioural Economics

The program is ideal for students who are interested in current affairs, logical thinking, and resolving policy or business problems.

BSc (Hons.) in Data Science

It is a full-time program that includes a Data Science minor that focuses on training economic theory, statistical inference, econometrics, and behavioural insights with data mining and applied business learning.

• Artificial Intelligence
• Machine Learning
• Big Data Analytics
• Decision Sciences and Operations

It is for the students who are interested in numbers, emerging technologies, and real-world problem-solving.

Students who are aspiring for UG admissions in IIMB are required to clear the IIMB UG admission test, followed by personal interviews. The following are the steps:

• Register for the IIMB UG program on their official website https://ug.iimb.ac.in/ by clicking on the ‘Apply for 2026 Admissions’, entering your class 10th and 12th mark sheets, a valid proof of ID, a passport-size photo, and your signature.
• Pay the application fee of INR 3,000 for the general category and INR 1,000 for SC, ST, or PwD categories.
• Appear for the IIMB UG admission test, which evaluates Quantitative Ability (Mathematics), Logical & Analytical Reasoning, Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension, and Data Interpretation.
• Students who get shortlisted in the exam are invited for an online or offline interview to evaluate their academic curiosity, communication, and interest in pursuing the chosen program.
• The final selection is based on IIMB UG test score, PI score, and previous academic records.

Note: After clearing all the rounds, students receive an offer letter to join the BSc (Hons.) programs in IIMB for the upcoming academic year.
