JEE Advanced 2026 Exam Date & Registration Guide

JEE Advanced 2026 exam notification and dates have been announced. IIT Roorkee will conduct the JEE Advanced exam 2026 on May 17, 2026, in two shifts. JEE Advanced registration 2026 start date for foreign national candidates begins on April 6, 2026, and for JEE Main 2026 qualified candidates, registration starts on April 23, 2026. Applicants must meet the eligibility criteria to appear for the JEE Advanced exam. Eligible candidates can fill out the JEE Advanced application form 2026 before the last date of registration by paying the exam fees of Rs. 1600 for female/SC/ST/PwD candidates, and for others exam fee is Rs. 3200.

The JEE Advanced exam is an entrance exam conducted by any of the 7 top IITs in India, in turn. The JEE Advanced exam is fully handled by the Joint Admission Board (JAB). JEE Advanced entrance exam score is considered for admission to the various bachelor’s degree programs offered at 23 IITs. The courses include BTech, BSc, BArch in Architecture (Candidates have to qualify an additional exam AAT), Dual Degree programs like B.Tech-MTech and BS-MS and Integrated MTech and Integrated MSc programs. Around 18,160 seats for UG programmes across all 23 IITs are filled through JEE Advanced scores, and a few universities outside India as well. To appear for the candidates, must be positioned in the top 2.5 lakh candidates in the order of merit in the JEE Main 2026 exam. Candidates from foreign countries can only apply directly for the JEE Advanced 2026 exam without a JEE Main score. The JEE Advanced exam syllabus covers topics from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.

• A candidate is allowed to appear for two consecutive attempts in JEE Advanced in two consecutive years.
• Applicant must be ranked one among the top 2.5 lakhs (including all categories) in the B.E/B.Tech paper in JEE Main 2026 exam. 
• Candidates should have been born on or after October 1, 2001. Candidates from reserved categories such as SC, ST, and PwD are given a 5-year age relaxation.
• Candidates who passed the class 12 examination in 2025 or will qualify in 2026 are eligible to apply for the JEE Advanced exam.

Step 1: Use JEE Main credentials to register

If your JEE Main score is above the JEE Main cutoff 2026 percentile, you can register for the JEE Advanced exam 2026 using the JEE Main application number and password.

Step 2: Fill out the JEE Advanced application form 2026

After reading all the instructions carefully. The candidate can proceed to fill out the application form by adding a few details, such as educational qualifications and preferred test city. 

Step 3: Upload scanned documents

Upload all the scanned documents in the prescribed format and size.

Step 4: Pay JEE Advanced application fees 2026

In the final stage of registration, applicants must pay the JEE Advanced exam fees 2026 online using a credit/debit card or internet banking.

IIT Roorkee has released the official JEE Advanced syllabus 2026 pdf at jeeadv.ac.in. Before starting the preparation, the candidate must go through the JEE Advanced subjects and topics. The JEE Advanced syllabus primarily covers 3 subjects: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. 

The JEE Advanced paper pattern is not announced in advance. The JEE Advanced paper pattern keeps changing every year. Candidates can check previous years' question papers to understand the marking scheme, number of questions asked and other details about the JEE Advanced question paper.

The provisional JEE Advanced answer key 2026 pdf will be released on May 25, 2026. Candidates who are not satisfied with the answer key can raise objections from May 25, 2026, to May 26, 2026. The final answer key will be released on June 1, 2026. Candidates can use the JEE Advanced 2026 answer key PDF to calculate their raw score and estimate their chances of admission to an IIT. 

JEE Advanced admit card 2026 pdf will be released on May 11, 2026, at 10 am. Registered candidates can get their hall ticket from the official website by entering their registration id and password. Candidates need to carry a hard copy of their JEE Advanced hall ticket along with a government-issued ID proof (Aadhaar card/PAN card/Driving License/Passport). Only candidates with valid documents are permitted to enter the exam hall. 

JEE Advanced results 2026 will be out on June 01, 2026, along with the final answer key. Candidates who appeared for the exam can download their scorecard fromthe  JEE Advanced official website, using their application id and password. 

JoSAA, also known as the Joint Seat Allocation Authority, conducts the online counselling session for the allotment of seats in IITs, NITs, IIITs, and other Government-Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs). Candidates who got a rank in the JEE Advanced exam 2026 are eligible to attend the JEE Advanced 2026 Counselling round. 

Aspirants who seek BArch admission at IITs have to attend the Architecture Aptitude Test (AAT) exam. Candidates who qualified for the JEE Advanced 2026 exam can only appear for the AAT exam. To apply, candidates can visit the JEE Advanced exam official website and register in AAT portal. This exam is a 3-hour duration exam only in the English language.
