JEE Main Results 2026

JEE Main Results 2026 of session 1 for Paper 1 (B.E. / B. Tech.) was released by the National Testing Agency on February 16, 2026. NTA activated the JEE Main 2026 results link at official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in. Candidates who appeared for the JEE Main 2026 exam session 1 can download the scorecard by entering their registration number and date of birth/password. Along with the results, NTA announced the All India JEE Main toppers 2026 and released the final answer key. Scorecard of JEE Main Paper 2 (B. Arch/B. Planning) will be declared later. The National Testing Agency announced the official announcement of the JEE Main results 2026 (session 1). JEE Main results 2026 will be released by February 12, 2026. JEE Main results release time is expected to be around 6 pm. Any changes in the declaration of JEE Main results 2026 will be intimated through the official website of NTA JEE Main, jeemain.nta.nic.in.

How do I check my JEE Main results?

Follow the instructions to download the JEE Main session 1 scorecard pdf from the official website. 

Step 1: Visit the JEE Main official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in.

Step 2: Click on the “JEE Main results 2026 (Session 1)” link available on the homepage.

Step 3: Enter your JEE Main application number, DOB, password and security pin in the portal.

Step 4: Click the “submit” button and the JEE Main scorecard 2026 will appear on the screen. 

Step 5: Download the PDF and print the scorecard for future reference. 

A copy of the JEE Main 2026 scorecard will be required at the time of counselling and during the college admission process.

NTA calculates the JEE Main score for a candidate by converting the raw score to a percentile score, ensuring fairness across shifts. Calculation of the JEE Main score is a 2-step process. Know how NTA prepares the JEE Main results 2026.

Step 1: Raw score calculation

As per the NTA JEE Main marking scheme, for each correct attempt, +4 marks are awarded. Deduction of one mark for each incorrect answer. No deduction for unanswered questions.

Step 2: JEE Main Score Normalisation 

The JEE Main 2026 exam is conducted over multiple days and shifts. In this case, the exam difficulty varies from one to another. It will affect candidates' scores. To avoid this, NTA use the normalisation process by using the formula: 

P = 100 * (Number of candidates in the shift with raw score <= Candidate's score)  

                    (Total number of candidates who appeared in the shift)

For example, if 1,00,000 students appeared in your shift and your percentile is 90%. It means you scored better than or equal to 90,000 students in that shift. 

After the declaration of JEE Main results 2026, NTA will release the rank list. Based on the final score, NTA will assign ranks to the candidates. If two candidates receive the same score, NTA applies the tie-breaking rule to assign ranks to them.

JEE Main Cutoff 2026 Required to Register for JEE Advanced 2026

The National Testing Agency will release the minimum cutoff marks required for candidates to register and appear for the JEE Advanced 2026 exam. Check out the previous year category-wise JEE Main cutoff to apply for JEE Advanced. 

After the announcement of JEE Main results, candidate can register for the JoSAA counselling to get into top engineering colleges in India such as IIITs/NITs or can apply for state-wise counselling session. The top 2.5 lakhs candidates who passed the JEE Main cutoff can register for the JEE Advanced 2026 for IITa admission 2026. 

How to Get Admission at IITs/NITs with JEE Main Cutoff 2026?

As per the B.Tech/B.Arch/B.Planning admission criteria, along with the JEE Main score applicant must have passed class 12 examination with at least 75% of marks in board examination in main 5 subjects such as Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, a language, Computer/Biology.
