Our college is a Govt. aided college affiliated under Vidyasagar University, West Bengal. It was accredited with grade ‘A’ by NAAC (3.11; 2016-2021). Along with UG courses (B.A., B.Sc., B.Com, B.C.A.) in various academic disciplines and also in teachers’ training and physical education, there are PG courses that are offered in 8 Science and Arts subjects (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Computer Science, Geography, Bengali, History, and Physical Education.
In the matter of running the PG courses, the University Council has granted a partial autonomy to the college in order to follow the course curriculum and examination matters in an effective and independent ways. Therefore, there are separate Boards of Studies (BOS) for PG has been formed for all the subjects.
We are glad to announce that UGC has recently upgraded the status of our college from a Bachelor’s degree college to Ph.D Degree College under section 2(f) & 12(B) of the UGC Act, 1956. The college has also been recognized by the University as Research centre in the faculty of Science.
