The Bhopal School of Social Sciences (BSSS)
The Bhopal School of Social Sciences (BSSS) was founded in 1972 by Most Rev Dr. Eugene D’ Souza, the then Archbishop of Bhopal, to meet the need for a job-focused education with an emphasis on social service and entrepreneurship. Managed by the Archdiocese of Bhopal, the college has grown over 50 years by adding new courses and adopting innovative learning methods, aiming to turn knowledge into positive action.
Initially known for social sciences and management, BSSS now offers courses in Commerce, IT, Science, and Physical Education. It provides various honours and specialized programs in fields like Foreign Trade, Tourism, Banking, Insurance, Taxation, Advertising, and Business Administration. The college also offers postgraduate courses and two international MBA programs in partnership with Assumption University, Bangkok, along with collaborations with IMA, US and ACCA, UK.
To broaden learning, BSSS offers 41 certificate courses and 6 diploma courses, including the Cambridge Business English Certificate at three levels. The college has consistently earned high NAAC grades ('A' and recently A+), confirming its commitment to excellence. With autonomous status since 2013, extended till 2034, it strives to foster intellectual, social, moral, and spiritual growth, guided by its chairman Most Rev. Dr. A. A. S. Durairaj with a vision of global education and social equality.
