NITTE Meenakshi Institute of Technology (NMIT), Bangalore which came into existence in 2001 and got the approval of the All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi, has been affiliated (Deemed to be University) to NITTE (Mangaluru) since October 2024. In the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF)-2024 by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, NMIT has been placed in the rank band 101-150. At the same time, NMIT has been certified with NBA (Tier-1), awarded ‘A+’ Grade by NAAC and Platinum Grade by AICTE-CII Survey of Industry-Linked Technical Institutes 2020. Located at Yelahanka, Bangalore, NMIT is the off-campus center of NITTE Deemed to be University.
NMIT, emphasizing a research-based approach that benefits not only the community but also the society at large, resulting in enhanced living standards, has established 11 'Multi-Disciplinary Labs', namely in Design and Development of Small Satellites, Robotics, Nano Materials & MEMS, Design Engineering and Process Simulation, Aerospace Engineering and IoT, Power Engineering, Quantum Computing, Cyber Security, Women Empowerment, Additive Manufacturing and Centre on Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning. This has helped attract young research talents from all over India and abroad. NMIT was among the first institutions in India to introduce NCC as an elective subject in the academic year 2013-14 to encourage fitness and discipline among students.
