Highlights e Department of Computer Applications is devoted to the study and research in the domain of Applications of Computer Science at Under Graduate and Post Graduate levels. To bridge the wide gap between the theory and applications of Computer Science, Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA) is conducted here. The program BCA is affiliated under Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (formerly known as WBUT). BCA is a 3 years full time degree course, divided into 6 semesters each of duration 6 months. At the end of every semester, semester end examination is conducted by the affiliating University MAKAUT. The intake of the course is 60 (sixty). The Department has produced several batches of young, trained and talented individuals who have made their marks in Software Industry over India and abroad. The students are well placed in companies like Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Wipro, Cognizant (CTS), Infosys, ITC InfoTech, Capgemini, Tech Mahindra, Deloitte, IBM, Amazon and many more.

Training & Placement Cell is provided with all the facilities to enable deserving students of Guru Nanak Institute of Technology to get competitive placements. The Training & Placement Cell plays a crucial role in locating job opportunities for Under Graduates and Post Graduates passing out from the college by keeping in touch with reputed firms and industrial establishments. The Placement Cell operates round the year to facilitate contacts between companies and graduates. The number of students placed through the campus interviews is continuously rising. On invitation, many reputed industries visit the institute to conduct interviews.
This Department prepares the students for the process of recruitment and simultaneously create awareness among companies about the recruitment opportunities at Guru Nanak Institute of Technology.
At present, the competition for employment is increasing every day and placement has become a challenging task. Training of students and equipping them with life skills has become an important responsibility of the institution. Along with technical expertise, development of a holistic personality is also necessary. To meet out these requirements, a fully-fledged training cell is operating in our college to enhance the capabilities of engineering graduates at par with the industry standards.
