Highlights The integrated LL.M., Ph.D. programme at NALSAR is envisioned as a unique experiment and is designed to enhance the quality of personnel available for legal research in India. The programme will also build capacities for teaching and interdisciplinary research in the law and social sciences. The objective is to provide a structured pathway for bright law graduates to progress towards a research degree while being given meaningful academic and logistical support. A LL.M. degree with a specialization in Legal Pedagogy and Research would be an interim qualification as part of this integrated programme.

ELIBILITY: To be eligible for admission to this integrated LL.M., Ph.D. course, a candidate should have completed the B.A., LL.B. / LL.B. / B.L. Degree or equivalent degree from a recognized University and must have secured at least 65% of marks in the aggregate. Candidates who already hold LL.M. degrees from other institutions are also welcome to apply.
ADMISSION PROCEDURE: The candidates for the LL.M., Ph.D. programme shall be selected through a process organized exclusively by NALSAR. The eventual selection will be based on the following parameters: a) Academic performance (CGPA or Percentage of marks obtained) during first degree in law: 15% b) Performance at the written test : 30% c) Statement of Purpose : 10% d) Writing Sample : 30% (could be a published paper or a work-inprogress) e) Interview: 15%. The written test will consist of essay type questions related to the fields of Constitutional Law, Jurisprudence, Law and Society, Law and the Humanities etc. Candidates are also necessarily required to submit at least two letters of recommendation from individuals who have supervised their work in an academic or professional setting. Applications sent without the letters of recommendation will not be processed.
