Established in 1969 as Christ College, CHRIST (Deemed to be University) has been a pioneer in reshaping Indian higher education through its forward-thinking academic model and global best practices. The institution has consistently emphasized academic discipline, holistic education, and innovative curricula, creating a learning environment rooted in values and excellence.
Recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC), the college was granted autonomous status in 2004 and was acknowledged as an Institution with Potential for Excellence in 2006. In 2008, it was declared a Deemed to be a University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.
A trailblazer in quality assurance, CHRIST was one of the first institutions in India to be accredited by NAAC in 1998, with subsequent accreditations in 2004, 2016, and most recently in 2022 with an A+ Grade. As of NIRF India Ranking 2024, CHRIST is ranked 60th among the top 100 universities in India by the Ministry of Education.
With a vibrant student community of over 30,000 learners, the university offers diverse Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral programmes across disciplines like humanities, social sciences, science, commerce, management, engineering, law, architecture, and education. It operates from four campuses in Bengaluru, with additional campuses in Lavasa (Pune) and Ghaziabad (Delhi NCR).
