Highlights Recognizing this need, over the years VGSoM moved beyond the sphere of the regular MBA programme. In 2010, the school initiated a unique 3 year programme (spread over 12 trimesters) for working executives, termed aptly as the Executive MBA Program or EMBA. This program is conducted in the IIT Kharagpur campus in Kolkata. Students enrolled in this programme earn the degree of Master of Business Administration from IIT Kharagpur. The 3 Years EMBA programme enables working executives to upgrade their managerial knowledge and skills while continuing to be employed. This rigorous programme is conducted through regular classes on weekends for the first two years and in company hands on project work for three terms in the third year. The programme consists of a compulsory set of core subjects and a variety of elective subjects just as in the case of a regular MBA program. The participants bring in their wide experiences into the classroom and work on regular individual and group projects. The total quantum of work required to earn the EMBA degree through VGSoM is 95 credits. Throughout the programme, the participants practice the concepts learnt in classrooms at their workplace. This parallel learning and implementation process forms the basis of this programme.
