It is estimated that the country's population will be approximately 150 crores in 2050, and the average age of a person will be 75 yrs in 2025. Nowadays, with the help of the latest diagnostic techniques, it is easy to eradicate, control, and prevent serious diseases, organ transplants, microsurgeries, etc. Even then, progress in Diagnostic technologies is made, and treatment Procedure is a must. Paramedical Science has a very vital role in the whole scenario. Especially in the field of Medicine and rapid growth. Today specialists are 100% dependent on the results of various lab tests, X-rays, E.C.G., Ultra Sound, CT Scan etc. With the help of these tests, the treatment of Consultant Physicians is more successful.

Due to growing demand there is an acute shortage of qualified and trained technicians. According to the latest survey, India has a shortage of 1 million Paramedics in India. With the demand and awareness, more hospitals/nursing homes are coming, especially in rural areas with attached laboratories, H-rays machines and other equipment. Govt. Institutions have few strengths of paramedical staff which cannot cater to even govt. hospitals, PHC's etc. To create awareness in the youth and growing demand in Govt. /Private sector Shivalik Institute of Paramedical Technology, Manimajra, Chandigarh has decided to start paramedical courses, especially for unemployed youth in the rural area and especially for poor and disabled persons.

Shivalik Institute of Paramedical Technology started with the view of affording job opportunities to the students of Chandigarh, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal and Jammu Kashmir.
