Amar Shaheed Baba Ajit Singh Jujhar Singh Memorial College of Pharmacy, Bela, Ropar, came into existence in memory of Sahibzada Ajit Singh Ji and Sahibzada Jujhar Singh Ji, elder sons of tenth Guru of Sikhs, Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, who laid down their lives fighting for the cause of religion, peace and independence at age of 17 and 15 years respectively.
The college of Pharmacy is run by a non-profitable society ‘Amar Shaheed Baba Ajit Singh Jujhar Singh Memorial Society’ which was constituted in year 1975. The society established a degree college in year 1975 with a vision to provide quality education in this region. Then moving onwards, Amar Shaheed Baba Ajit Singh Jujhar Singh Memorial College of Pharmacy was established in year 1993 to fulfill the requirement of technical education. The college was initially started with Diploma in Pharmacy course which was later upgraded to Degree College with Bachelor in Pharmacy course in year 2000.
Flourishing further, the college started with Master in Pharmacy course in Pharmaceutics stream in year 2006. Later M. Pharmacy in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Pharmacology was inducted in year 2008 and 2009 respectively. Currently the college has university approved Ph.D. research and course work center in Pharmaceutical Sciences.
