Highlights In India, the M.Phil Degree is considered to be a bridge course between the Master’s Degree (M.A. / M.Sc. / M.Com. / MBA / MCA) and the Doctoral Degree (Ph.D.). More than 400 universities are offering M.Phil. Degrees of one to two years duration. Selection of M.Phil candidates is done based on an Entrance Test conducted by the concerned universities and institutions. The One-Year full-time and regular M.Phil Degree has been designed to enable the Master’s Degree holders to acquire expert knowledge of research methodology and other advanced topics, and to prepare them to register for a Ph.D. Degree in the relevant Faculty.

The CMJ University was established by an Act of the Meghalaya State Legislature, known as the CMJ University Act, 2009 on the 20th July 2009. It is under section 2(f) of UGC act 1956, and is approved by UGC, Ministry of HRD, Government of India for award of degrees. Since it is a bona fide State Private University, its degrees are recognized and accepted in the government sector and also the corporate sector across India.
