About us
The Delhi School of Economics (DSE), founded in 1949, was built with the vision of becoming a hub for excellence in teaching and research in the social sciences. Its first Director, Professor V.K.R.V. Rao, with the support of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, imagined an institution that would train students not only in rigorous theory and quantitative skills but also in understanding the larger social and economic challenges facing the country.
