Highlights The Department of History was established in 2017 at UG and PG level. This programme has been designed to develop required analytical skills in our students which facilitate them to pursue higher education as well as different competitive exams. This course also focuses on developing a philosophical approach by providing deep thoughts on historical aspects and critically analyzing those with the present scenario. The subject is taught by dedicated and experienced faculties. Special lectures are also delivered by eminent professors from time to time in the department.

The University has more than 200 classrooms. All classrooms in SGRRU are well furnished, spacious; well- ventilated and are fortified with all modern facilities. More than 66% classrooms are ICT enabled that helps students to understand the concepts being taught with the help of audio video teaching aids. Classrooms are designed to provide focused teaching and learning experiences. Apart from having adequate furniture, boards, power backups, projectors are also an integral part of our classrooms. Classrooms are hereby dedicated to provide safe and smart learning platforms for our budding leaders.
In addition to classroom system SGRRU has more than 20 seminar halls and tutorial halls. There are technology enabled halls providing display place to our students to showcase their talents, have group discussions and gain knowledge in various fields. The environment provided by these amenities provides life- long learning experience to students and teachers.
At present there are eight separate hostels, for boys and girls to accommodate more than 2000 students. A hygienic mess facility is also provided. Round the clock warden/ caretaker and vigilant security persons are available to supervise the hostels. The rooms are furnished, airy, with proper house-keeping facilities. Hostels are equipped with a number of amenities viz: reading rooms, free Wi-Fi facility, organized dining hall and sport facilities etc. The hostels are equipped with generators in order to provide 24 hours electricity backup and water supply. Life-in-campus helps students to study, learn and to socialize with their peers.
SGRRU offers its students, faculties and residents the advantage of advanced IT infrastructure and high end Unified Threat Management (UTM) system for secure networking.
University Computer Centre has served as a hub for all IT related services of the University and its Constituent schools. Computer Centers operates under IT Services department of the University. University Computer Centre provides varied services to all faculty members, staff and students of University. With the commissioning of the University-wide network, the Computer Centre is at a unique position to serve the University for all its IT needs. This centre facilitate with high speed internet facility, high performance computing facility, placement tests, training centers, modern servers, storage and various advanced application software.
The Computer centre provides e-campus facility comprises of 24×7 high speed and uninterrupted connectivity. Department laboratories, hostels and libraries provided computing facilities to all the learners.
