Advanced Analog Layout Design Training Program 

The Advanced Analog Layout Design course helps you understand how both analog and digital circuits are built and laid out on a chip. You’ll explore modern semiconductor technologies like FinFET, CFET, GAA, and SOI, which are used in today’s high-performance electronics. 

This program also teaches scripting with Python and TCL, which are useful for automating design tasks. You'll learn how to design complex components such as amplifiers (op-amps), low-dropout regulators (LDOs), PLLs, and data converters using industry tools and standard process design kits (PDKs). 

A major focus is on drawing clean, optimized layouts that follow industry rules (like DRC and LVS) and understanding how things like parasitic effects and process changes can affect performance. By the end, you'll be able to simulate your designs, make improvements based on test results, and ensure your circuits are reliable, manufacturable, and ready for real-world applications.

Program Outcomes

• Discuss the concepts of Analog and Digital circuit design, advanced semiconductor technologies such as FinFET, CFET (Complementary FET), GAA (Gate-All-Around), and SOI (Silicon-On-Insulator) and Scripting Languages such as Python and TCL 
• Analyse the core principles of CMOS and emerging device architectures, along with advanced circuit theory and layout fundamentals. 
• Apply the concept of FinFET to design and simulate complex full-custom layout design blocks—such as operational amplifiers (op-amps), low-dropout regulators (LDOs), low-noise amplifiers (LNAs), phase-locked loops (PLLs), data converters and bandgap References using industry-standard PDKs and EDA tools for creation, verification and extraction. 
•  Analyse and Interpret circuit schematics and translate them into matched, optimized, and DRC/LVS-compliant layouts.  
• Analyse and apply the Layout-dependent effects, Parasitic effects, and Process variations, and the evaluation of strategies for improving performance, noise immunity, device matching layout-aware techniques such as matching, inter-digitization, and parasitic balancing in deep-submicron processes. 
• Analyze post-layout simulation results and iterate to meet performance specifications under PVT variations. 
• Design and implement optimized Analog and Digital IPs, perform pre- and post-layout simulations, and validate manufacturability and robustness using DRC, LVS, DFM, and reliability checks.
