Highlights The Institute of Distance and Open Learning (IDOL) at the University of Mumbai offers a three-year Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) degree. The program is based on distance learning, which means students can complete the course without attending classes on campus.
The Mumbai University (MU) has a virtual classroom at its Kalina campus and became the first public university in the country to introduce this facility. This facility will be used to deliver and live-stream lectures, workshops and seminars through A-VIEW, which will comprise of a complete virtual learning tool.
University Video Lecture Course (UVLC) is a project initiated by the University Grants Commission. They are designed as an ideal package if lectures on each subject suited for all universities. Through these, the best available subject experts can reach undergraduates all over the country

The University of Mumbai (Bombay) was established in 1857. In August, 1864, Premchand Roychand, a merchant prince of Bombay, offered to the University a donation of Rs. 2,00,000 “towards the erection of a university library which may be an ornament to the city, and by becoming a storehouse of t he learned works, not only of the past but of many generations to come, may be the means of promoting the high ends of the University.”
