Highlights Periodontology is the dental specialty that focuses on the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases of the gingiva, or “gums” and other surrounding tissues. The Department educates undergraduate students (BDS) in the didactic and clinical applications necessary to perform the entire spectrum of periodontal procedures. The department includes the MDS program which is a three-year program with an intake capacity of 5 students per year. Students are trained to perform specialised periodontal surgical procedures including dental implants placement, Periodontal plastic/cosmetic gum surgeries, Bone grafting, Local drug delivery, LASER and Electrocautery assisted periodontal surgeries, Ridge augmentation, Alveolar bone surgeries, etc. Periodontology being a surgical branch gives student the opportunity to develop as a full scale dentist and has a rewarding career.

ELIGIBILTY CRITERIA
Candidate must have completed BDS awarded by a University or Institute in India and registered with the State Dental Council and has obtained provisional or permanent registration and has undergone compulsory rotatory internship of a year in an approved/recognised dental college.
Admissions are made on the basis of merit of NEET examination conducted by the authorized agencies of the Central Govt. and through Counselling
