Highlights Established in 2002, the department expanded its UG intake to 120 students in 2010 and launched a PG course in 2012 with 18 students. The department has well-qualified faculty with PG or higher degrees, using innovative methods for practical and motivated learning. The department offers fully equipped labs for UG and PG students, including specialized labs for VLSI, Embedded Systems, and more. Experienced non-teaching staff guide students during practical sessions. Emphasizing lifelong learning, the department prepares students with a strong foundation in Electronics, Communication, and Instrumentation Engineering.

Central Library
All documents are bar-coded, allowing for efficient book issuance. The library includes a central facility and six departmental libraries, featuring a well-furnished reading room and an exclusive reference section. Surveillance is ensured by CCTV cameras, and a visitor’s register is maintained. The library boasts over 26,460 books and approximately 500 e-journals covering various engineering and technology fields. Memberships with DELNET and NDL provide access to a vast collection of e-books and journals.
Central Computing Facility
Operational since 2009, the Central Computing Facility supports computing needs across departments and the college office. It operates from 8:40 am to 3:40 pm on working days and features 60 interconnected computers with a 200 Mbps RailWire internet connection. The facility includes a UPS system for uninterrupted power, enabling 24/7 internet and wireless access. It is equipped with printers and projectors as needed.
IIT Bombay Remote Centre
Lourdes Matha College of Science and Technology is proud to be the first Remote Centre of IIT Bombay in Trivandrum. This partnership enhances faculty teaching skills through the E-outreach program, Project Ekalavya. The program uses EDUSAT and AVIEW software for live, remote workshops and is part of the National Mission on Education through ICT, supported by the Ministry of Human Resource and Development.
Language and Communication Skills
The Language Laboratory at LMCST focuses on improving English language skills through advanced technology. It offers interactive, digital learning environments to enhance reading, writing, listening, and speaking abilities. The ETNL Language Lab© software provides a multimedia-based platform for both students and teachers to share materials and enhance language proficiency. Scholarships, freeships, and MOOC courses are available.
