Placements
Placements at Vellore Institute of Technology are conducted through a centralized placement system, where students from all four campuses — Vellore, Chennai, Andhra Pradesh, and Bhopal — participate in a common recruitment process. This system gives students access to a wider range of companies and opportunities across campuses.
The placement process is managed by the Central Placement Cell of VIT. Companies visiting for recruitment can conduct online assessments, technical tests, aptitude rounds, group discussions, and interviews through both online and offline modes depending on their requirements. Online tests are usually monitored by placement coordinators in the respective campuses to ensure smooth conduct of the process. For recruiters preferring remote hiring, VIT also supports virtual interview arrangements. This system became highly active during the past few years and continues to help companies conduct interviews conveniently from different locations. If companies choose physical recruitment, shortlisted students may attend interviews at any one of the VIT campuses, while students from other campuses can join virtually.
VIT is known for attracting a large number of recruiters from sectors such as Information Technology, Core Engineering, Consulting, Finance, Analytics, and Product Development. Students are provided with placement training that includes aptitude preparation, coding practice, mock interviews, communication skill development, and resume-building sessions from the early stages of their course.
