Highlights he Department of Civil Engineering at the Shiv Nadar Institution of Eminence is focused on imparting a quality education program, aligned with the evolving demands of the industry, and academia, through a uniquely structured curriculum involving interdisciplinary collaborative efforts between our esteemed faculty and industry experts. The thrust areas of the department are (I) Sustainable Infrastructure Systems, (II) Water, Environment, and Climate, and (III) Urban Network Systems. The Department of Civil Engineering has 13 well-experienced faculty members with Ph.D. degrees from various IITs / universities from abroad offering different academic specializations. The department has several advanced research laboratories such as Civil Engineering Computing Laboratory, Air Quality Laboratory, Disaster Management Laboratory, Air Sampling Laboratory, Advance Materials and Building Energy Laboratory, Intelligent Geosystems Laboratory, Agriculture Water Management Laboratory (Field Lab), and River Engineering Laboratory (Field Lab), which is aligned with cutting-edge research environment. The Department invites applications for admission in the Ph.D. program. Students admitted for full time, completely residential Ph.D. program will receive a fellowship-stipend of ₹40,000/- per month for the first two years and ₹45,000/- for the last three years, subject to candidate fulfilling the departmental and university academic requirements. A Research Grant of INR 1,50,000 (One Lakh fifty thousand) is available for the students to be used for conference (only Scopus indexed) travel (domestic and/or international) during the 5-year period of Ph.D. program.
