Highlights The two year Post graduate program M. Tech in Computer Science and Engineering started in 2009. The course was started mainly to cater to the increasing demand for higher studies. A growing intake with students from across the nation shows the popularity of the program. The Department strives to give skills essential to practicing engineering professionals. The department understands its role in developing and evaluating methods that encourage students to continue to learn after leaving the university. We believe that the student opportunities and experiences should lead to an appreciation of the holistic development of individuals. We also try to pass to our students our passion for what we do, and to have the students comprehend that we also desire to continue to learn. The Post graduate program aims to offer advanced knowledge in specific areas. Focus on research is a special feature of our program, in CHRIST (Deemed to be University) School of Engineering and Technology where students are encouraged to undertake research level projects and have mandatory publications in national level conferences. Specific subjects for industry level skills are also offered for better employability.
About us
The Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI), the first indigenous Catholic congregation, was established in 1831 and now oversees Christ (Deemed to be University). Initially founded as Christ College in 1969, the University Grants Commission (UGC) granted autonomy to the institution in 2004 and recognised it as an "institution with potential for excellence" in 2006. Subsequently, in 2008, under section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, the Ministry of Human Resource Development of the Government of India designated it as a "deemed to be university" under the name Christ University. In 2018, following a directive from the Supreme Court of India, the term "university" was removed, resulting in its current name, Christ (Deemed to be University). Notably, Christ was among the first institutions in India to receive accreditation from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) in 1998, and it has consistently been awarded Grade 'A+' on a 4-point scale in 2004, 2016, and 2022. It is also one of the prominent institutions considered among the top choices when students explore M.Tech Colleges in Bangalore.
