Eligibility Criteria
Admission Pathways
NSUT admits M.Tech students primarily via a valid GATE score (first preference). Non-GATE candidates qualify through the university's written test and merit list. Only GATE qualifiers are eligible for the AICTE scholarship (₹12,400/month, limited slots).
Minimum Qualifications
You need 60% aggregate (or equivalent CGPA) in your qualifying degree (B.Tech/B.E./M.Sc.). SC/ST/PwD candidates get a 5% relaxation. If your final result is pending, 7th-semester marks work—but submit the full result at admission, or it gets canceled (no refunds).
Written Test for Non-GATE
Non-GATE folks take a university-conducted exam (syllabus matches GATE papers for your branch). Expect tentative dates in the admission schedule for admit cards. The university sets cutoffs for the merit list—final call is theirs.
Seat & Scholarship Rules
GATE gets priority; leftover AICTE-reserved seats go to general GATE candidates, with extra spots created for non-GATE. No scholarships for written-test admits.
