About University of Petroleum And Energy Studies (Upes)
UPES in Dehradun got started back in 2003 under this UPES Act from the Uttarakhand State Legislature. Pretty much a top private university now, recognized by the UGC and all that. In the NIRF 2023 rankings from the Ministry of Education, it landed at 52nd overall. Engineering came in at 54th. Management was 39th. Globally, QS World Rankings 2023 put it 243rd in Asia. And get this, third best private university in India. It has NAAC A accreditation. Plus a five-star QS rating for employability. Placements are over 90 percent consistently. The university runs a bunch of graduate and postgraduate programs through eight schools. More than 13,000 students there. Over 1,500 faculty and staff members too. That 44-acre campus in Dehradun has modern classrooms. Labs are advanced. Hostels, sports facilities, and all sorts of spaces for academics and extracurricular stuff. Basically, it gets students ready for industry jobs. Turns them into leaders for tomorrow.
