Following are the broad guidelines for admission fo the offline counselling. If any situation arise due
to the COVID-19 pandemic, then in addition to these points other measures, mentioned wherever
required, will also be used for admission criteria as one time measure.
(i) Admission to all M. Tech. programmes shall be done on the basis of valid GATE score. Valid GATE score
holders will be given first preference and then the candidates seeking admission under the non-GATE category
will be considered.
(ii) In case seats of any category reserved for the AICTE fellowship is vacant and no valid GATE score holder is
available in that category, then these seats be filled by valid GATE score holders of open category (General). In
lieu of these seats same number of supernumerary seats shall be created in the respective category for the non-
GATE candidates.
(iii)In case seats are still vacant in any category and non-gate candidates are available in any category, then admission
shall be done on the basis of aggregate percentage (70% weightage) of first to seventh semester, uniformly, and
performance in online interview (30% weightage) conducted by the respective department. [(in COVID-19
pandemic case only otherwise NSUT merit list will be used for admissions].
(iv) If result of UG degree of a candidate is pending due to COVID-19, then for 2023-24 M.Tech. admission purposes
the percentage till VII semester shall be considered. Such students will be required to submit complete result as
per the undertaking given in this brochure in annexures. After submission of the result candidate must fulfill the
minimum eligibility requirement otherwise the admission will be cancelled and no fee will be refunded to the
candidate. [ in case of COVID19 only]
