Highlights The Department of Computer Applications (MCA) came into being on October 1984-85, the same period when computer science education was just getting started in India. The department provides a Master's program in Computer Applications (MCA) with an active curriculum for students in applied computer science and technologies. The MCA programme came into existence with an initial intake of 30 students, which was subsequently increased to 60. The duration of the MCA programme was previously 3 years till 2019-20, but from 2020-21 onwards, it was cut down to 2 years with an intake of 60 students. The current intake for the MCA program is scheduled to reach 120 students per academic year starting in 2023-24.

The NBA has given its approval to the MCA course for 5 years, from 2019 till 2024. This is a very honored quality recognition awarded by the National Board of Accreditation to the MCA programme. The department is only as strong as its Alumni, Faculty, staffs and students. Our graduates have had prestigious industrial and academic appointments. The department is having qualified, experienced and highly dedicated & committed faculty members, getting assistance from technical & administrative staff. The college has also offered research programs and the Department of Computer Applications has been approved a research center by VTU. 5 research supervisors working on Data Science, ML, Software Engineering, Web Services, CNs and IoT etc.
