Highlights Programme aims to prepare graduates in all the major areas of computer science, relevant aspects of mathematics and management so that they can take up both technical and managerial positions in industry. The training is rigorous and involves five semesters of course work and one semester of project work. MCA students of earlier batches have been offered internships at companies such as IBM, GE, Microsoft, CA, CMC, Honeywell etc. and are thus provided an opportunity to learn in industry environment during their last semester.

The MCA programme at University of Hyderabad is designed to give students both strong technical skills and managerial awareness. The MCA programme covers technical presentations across all major areas in computer science, relevant mathematics, and provides exposure to management concepts to give students flexibility to pursue positions that require not only coding / systems knowledge and skills, but also management responsibilities as an overseer or coordinator of the tasks the technical people are performing. The MCA course is structured over five semesters of class-based and lab-based coursework, and the final sixth semester devoted to a project, which arms the student with practical, real-world experience the student can ultimately leverage for future employment. Univeristy of hyderabad will also provide students these additional optional internship experiences with large companies (IBM, Microsoft, Honeywell, etc.) so students can work and gain exposure to real industry environments. Admission to this programme can be competitive: typically students need to have a valid entrance exam score (ex NIMCET) and a solid undergraduate academic history to be eligible for this programme upon admission.
