Infrastructure at The Neotia University

Spread across 60 acres of lush greenery on the outskirts of Kolkata, The Neotia University (TNU) offers a serene and secure environment for learning and personal growth. The campus is beautifully landscaped and divided into four main zones — Scholastic Buildings, Sports Pavilion, Socio-Cultural Arena, and Administrative Block. With round-the-clock security and CCTV surveillance, students enjoy a safe and well-maintained setting that inspires focus and creativity.

TNU is known for its avant-garde infrastructure and an impressive range of facilities that make student life enriching and engaging. From smart classrooms and modern laboratories to specialised training areas like the ship-in-campus and bridge simulator, every facility is designed to offer practical exposure alongside academic learning. The campus also houses conference and seminar halls, a high-tech Learning Resource Centre, an advanced IT hub, Wi-Fi coverage throughout, banking facilities, and medical support with a doctor-on-call and hospital tie-ups.

Learning Spaces

Every department at TNU features Smart Classrooms and well-designed seminar rooms equipped with interactive boards, projectors, and high-speed internet to make learning dynamic and interactive. These spaces host lectures, workshops, and conferences, encouraging experiential learning.

The Central Library spans 8,000 sq. ft., offering nearly 31,000 books, 3 million e-books, e-journals, and specialised collections in multiple languages. Along with reading corners and solo study areas, students have access to a University Book Bank, which provides all course materials each semester — even couriered to their homes if needed.

Specialised Labs & Workshops

The University’s 10,000 sq. ft. workshop is fitted with modern machinery for hands-on training. Each department maintains advanced laboratories, including a language lab to refine communication skills.

For agriculture students, there’s an extensive Agriculture & Fisheries Science Project Area featuring polyhouses, net houses, aquaponics units, experimental fields, specialised labs, and mechanised farming equipment. The department is also developing unique facilities like a plant tissue culture unit, food science lab, mushroom and sericulture units, and orchards.

Fisheries students benefit from several well-maintained ponds for practical training, research, and innovation in aquaculture.

Marine Training Excellence

TNU stands out with its Ship-in-Campus, featuring a 4000 BHP, 32-ton engine, and complete onboard machinery for real-world marine training. The Bridge Simulator replicates a shipboard environment, allowing nautical science cadets to gain authentic navigational experience. Additionally, TNU is among the first in India to have a Free-Fall Davit training facility, preparing students for the challenges of marine operations.

Law & Cultural Facilities

Law students practice advocacy skills in a fully functional Moot Court, simulating real legal proceedings. The Multipurpose Hall (13,000 sq. ft.) hosts seminars, cultural programs, indoor sports, and student-led events.

The entire campus is Wi-Fi enabled 24/7, ensuring uninterrupted access to online resources. The University’s IT team is always on hand to assist students. Banking services, healthcare facilities, and recreational spaces provide a comfortable, well-rounded campus experience.
