Highlights The Post Graduate Programme in Public Policy and Management (PGPPM), launched in 2002 by IIMB, is a ‘one-of-its kind’ programme aimed at improving efficiency and leadership skills among policymakers and administrators while exposing them to topical issues in management. PGPPM is going hybrid in 2023 with online and on-campus components where students engage with the IIMB learning ecosystem in multiple ways. The re-designed PGPPM is a 40-week modular and hybrid PG Diploma programme offered by IIMB, which is aimed at enhancing efficiency, leadership and management skills among policy makers and administrators. The programme also requires the participants to submit a comprehensive policy paper, emphasising learning during the program and applying to a policy sensitive issue. Participants spend time on campus in module 2 (8 weeks) and module 4 (2 weeks), while module 1 and 3 uses IIMB’s robust MOOCs platforms. Further details of the program are available under the program structure tab. The 2023 cohort focusses entirely on “DoPT Sponsored” candidates. In its revised format, PGPPM ensures that the program’s graduate are well-rounded professionals, both from the perspective of public policy and general management – a unique combination. PGPPM alumni occupy senior positions focussed on applying public policy and managerial principles in different roles in Government Ministries and organizations, in the private consulting and corporate space, UN bodies, and the broader social sector. Some of these are: Central Bureau of Investigations. Securities Exchange Board of India (SEBI), Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), Namma Metro, Antara Foundation, SELCO Foundation, Access Health, Invest India, World Bank.

The Post Graduate Programme in Public Policy & Management (PGP-PPM) is a unique program offered by IIM Bangalore that is designed to equip ambitious professionals with the skills, knowledge, and attributes needed to address challenges in policy-making and analysis. Participants study economics, public finance, governance, ethics, and technology in public systems, among other topics, and engage in case studies, simulations, and fieldwork. A key feature of the program is the opportunity for international exposure through working on joint projects and study trips, which teach how governance issues are tackled globally. The PGP-PPM is more than theoretical— it empowers participants to return with new ideas and the ability to influence policies that impact economies, societies, and institutions.
