Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) at Dr. D. Y. Patil College of Physiotherapy
The BPT programme is a four-year full-time undergraduate course followed by a six-month compulsory rotating internship. The initial semesters cover the foundational sciences such as anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, biomechanics, exercise therapy, and electrotherapy, helping students build a strong clinical base. As the course progresses, subjects such as pathology, microbiology, pharmacology, neurology, orthopaedics, community health, and rehabilitation broaden students' understanding of patient care across multiple specialities. Students also receive structured clinical postings in various physiotherapy departments, where they interact with patients and learn treatment planning under expert supervision. The final phase includes choice-based subjects that allow learners to explore specific areas of interest within physiotherapy, along with research exposure that enhances their analytical skills. By the end of the programme, the internship phase ensures students step into the profession with confidence, hands-on experience, and a clear understanding of real-world physiotherapy practice.
