Students begin with a strong foundation in basic medical sciences, including anatomy, physiology, and biochemistry, and gradually transition into para-clinical and clinical disciplines, including internal medicine, surgery, paediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology, community medicine, and allied specialities. Teaching is integrated with hands-on clinical exposure through postings in the associated teaching hospital, Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital, which handles a large patient load across specialities, offering students rich, real-world learning experiences. The final year of the programme is a compulsory rotating internship, during which students apply their accumulated knowledge and clinical skills across core departments before graduating as qualified medical practitioners.
