Highlights An MBBS degree is an undergraduate course for aspirants who want to fulfil their dream of becoming a doctor. Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), is a professional degree in medical science. After completing MBBS course and obtaining the degree, students would be qualified as medical practitioners or doctors. The duration of MBBS course is five years and six months including one year of rotational internship at hospitals, health centres, and health camps organised by non-profit organisations (NGOs). The curriculum of MBBS includes subjects such as anatomy, pharmacology, pathology as well as community health & medicine, paediatrics, and surgery. The curriculum is designed in such a way that MBBS degree holders can choose a specialisation for further majoring and practising medicine. MBBS students can opt for different specialisations such as Nephrology, Cardiology, Gynecology, Anesthesiology, Organ Transplant, Endocrine, and General Surgery, etc.
Candidate must have secured above mentioned aggregate percentage in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotech. & must have passed Phy., Chem., Biology/Biotech. & English individually. Candidates who have passed 10+2 level with Biology as an additional subject will also be eligible. Candidates who have passed 10+2 from Open School or as private candidates are not eligible. Furthermore, study of Biology/Biotechnology as an additional subject at 10+2 level shall not be permissible. Candidate passed B.Sc. from Indian Uni. with not less than 2 of the subjects Phy., Chem., Bio. (Botany, Zoology)/Biotech. & further passed the earlier qualifying examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English can also apply. Result awaited candidates can also apply on provisional basis. The lower age limit is 17 years on or before 31st Dec. The upper age limit is 25 years (30 yrs for SC/ST/OBC category). Candidate must have secured 50th (40th for SC, ST & OBC candidates) percentile in NEET.
