Highlights Doctorate of Medicine is a three year degree program which enables the students in the following aspects: 1. Recognize the importance to the concerned speciality in the context of the health needs of the community and the national priorities in the health section. 2. Practice the speciality concerned ethically and in step with the principles of primary health care. 3. Demonstrate sufficient understanding of the basic sciences relevant to the concerned speciality. 4. Identify social, economic, environmental, biological and emotional determinants of health in a given case, and take them into account while planning therapeutic, rehabilitative, preventive and primitive measure/strategies. 5. Diagnose and manage majority of the conditions in the speciality concerned on the basis of clinical assessment, and appropriately selected and conducted investigations.
Students have exclusive hostels for Boys and Girls with spacious, comfortable, well-furnished rooms with all modern amenities, hygienic kitchens, nutritious food, and portable RO water source is provided for drinking. Each hostel block has a separate pantry and laundry facility. Students wishing to stay in these hostels are advised to apply in the prescribed forms. The boarders are having Indoor and outdoor sports facilities and ample reading room facility. Round the clock security guards (Male & Female for respective hostels) as well as CCTV cameras are placed for continuous monitoring and vigilance for the safety of students.
We have separate hostel facilities for Postgraduate students and residents outside the campus with good accommodation and catering facilities. Solar emergency source is utilized for heating and cooking purpose in the hostel.
The college has an academic society. All the teaching staff, Post Graduate students and interns are the members of this society. The society conducts academic meetings every fortnight where high standard academic discussions take place and interesting clinical materials are discussed.
This committee was constituted in September 1994 as per the guidelines of ICMR (an apex and statutory body of clinical research in India). This committee guides investigations / researchers in the ethical aspects of the research programmes. Funds by the Governmental agencies and publications in professional journals necessitates the project to get an approval from this committee.
The co-operative society is also a part of the college, which supplies the needs of the students with their essential daily requirements and other requirements such as text books, note books, papers, surgical items, etc. The society works on `no profit - no loss` basis.
The college has many facilities like enough space for playing the games viz., Outdoor: Cricket, Football, Kabaddi,Volley ball, Basket Ball, Throw Ball, Tennikoit, Ball Badminton and Athletic track, Indoor: Table tennis, Chess, Carrom, Shuttle Badminton and recreation Hall, multistation Gym hall. . A permanent multipurpose sports ground on par with National standards is there in the campus.
