B.Sc. Costume Design and Fashion
The B.Sc. Costume Design and Fashion programme is designed to develop both the creative vision and the technical expertise required in the fashion and textile industry. Over six semesters, students are trained in areas such as fashion illustration, textile science, apparel design and development, pattern making and grading, fabric formation techniques, textile processing, and sustainable practices in textiles. The curriculum also covers modern aspects like visual merchandising, boutique management, fashion reality, technical textiles, and the use of industry-specific software.
The programme places strong emphasis on hands-on learning and industry exposure. Students have access to Coursera certification courses, as well as job-oriented training such as event management and wedding planning. They can also undergo NSDC assessments for roles such as Assistant Fashion Designer and Fashion Designer, thereby adding professional value to their profiles. With MoUs in place with leading apparel industries, students complete three internships during the course, including opportunities at the Centre of Excellence in Apparel Made-Ups and Home Furnishing at KCW. Entrepreneurial skills are encouraged through Vogue & Style, the campus-based fashion studio, where students gain experience in running a fashion-oriented business. High-performing students can also enrol in the Advanced Learner’s Program for further specialisation.
