Ph.D in Mathematics at IIIT Delhi - Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology
The Ph.D. in Mathematics program at IIIT Delhi is a full-time doctoral track designed to enable students to build depth as well as breadth in mathematical sciences, both pure and applied. The program begins with limited coursework to strengthen foundational understanding, followed by focused research under the guidance of faculty. Students admitted to this programme work on advanced topics in mathematics, interact with related fields such as computer science, data science, optimisation, theoretical computer science, etc., and develop original research leading to thesis submission and defence. The program is offered in Regular mode (with fixed application windows) and in Rolling mode (with ongoing eligibility/applications), providing flexibility to applicants. There is a strong emphasis on research productivity, publication, contribution to the academic community, and the use of mathematical methods to address problems across disciplines. Full-time Ph.D. students receive stipends or assistantships, tuition fee waivers, mentoring, and access to international collaborations, where possible, to make the doctoral journey rigorous and well-supported.
