Research skills are key, and students are able to develop and carry out independent projects, analyze data, and can even publish their findings. There is also a 1-year research focused stream that aims to give very intensive training in the current best levels of the topics, and trying to get them ahead of other programs candidates when they are dealing with research and publication like life after this.
