Highlights M.Sc. (Dietetics & Nutrition) is a two-year program designed to enhance knowledge and skills of students in nutrition and to develop critical evaluation skills in them through an integration of knowledge of public Health, Community Nutrition, Patient Counseling and research in the field of dietetics. It provides an opportunity for interaction with patients, and thus, students get hands-on training in hospitals. Students are also taught advanced diet therapy and participate in symposiums, and conferences in nutrition & dietetic. PROGRAMME OBJECTIVE To train and produce postgraduates in the field of Dietetics and Nutrition who are recognized for their practical and public health skills. To well acquaint these postgraduates with the expanding frontiers and ever increasing demands of advanced clinical nutrition, understand the basis of nutritional status assessment, biochemical basis of nutrition, nutrition related disorders, role of nutrition in therapeutic diets. The students will also learn about the new and expanding areas of research in the field of dietetics and nutrition and acquire necessary research oriented skills.
ELIGIBILTY CRITERIA
Candidate should have passed A Bachelor's degree in Science or Home Science with not less than 50% marks in aggregate from any recognized University. Note: 5% weight age will be given for merit to the candidates passing Bachelor's degree in Hotel Management.
