The SRM Group is named after Thiru Ramasamy who is the late father of Thiru T.R. Pachamuthu – the founder and chairman of Valliammai society. The society was named after his mother who was his great source of inspiration.
The Valliammai society runs several institutions under the name of Thiru Ramaswamy -SRM GROUP.
In 1981, the society took over the Nightingale Matriculation High School. The SRM Group ventured into higher education with the launch of the Valliammai Polytechnic. SRM Engineering College came into being in the year 1985. It is one of the prestigious institutions in Science and Technology. As new branches were added every year, the College grew into a full-fledged engineering college encompassing all disciplines of technical education.
The SRM Institute of Hotel Management at Chennai, Trichy and NCR Campus Noida offers its students the benefit of a deluxe hotel attached to each of the institutes.
