Highlights Department of Physics was started in 1993 during silver jubilee year of the college with the commencement of B.Sc (Physics main) course. Till then the department was offering subsidiary courses for B.Sc. (Mathematics) and pre degree students. Prof. P.C Jose was the Head of the Department till 1995. The department also interacts with various national institutes in training our students during the various stages of their study. The learning process in the department provides them with opportunities to pursue higher education in institutions of national importance. The academic knowledge, experimental skills, and research experience provided by the department help our students to take up the teaching profession, research programmes etc.. At present the department is headed by Dr. E. D. Dias. Winning of the University first Ranks both in M.Sc. and B. Sc courses are one among the recent achievements of the department.
