Highlights 1. The B.Voc. Garment Designing was introduced in 2014 under UGC’s skill-based education scheme. 2. It is in line with the National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF) to enhance the employability of workforce in apparel sector. 3. The training is customized to meet the needs of the garment industry and provides practical, flexible and comprehensive/ community-based skill-based training. 4. This enables the students to acquire sound technique in order to be designers and merchandisers in garment production factories. 5. It also promotes entrepreneurial skills, enabling students to establish their manufacturing units or boutiques.
Campus Infrastructure
The classrooms at KCW are equipped with smart boards, audio-visual equipment, high-speed internet etc. These innovative and flexible spaces create learning experiences that are vibrant and immersive for students in all programs.
Students gain practical experience in state-of-the-art labs, as well as at the Central Instrumentation Facility (CIF), which houses cutting-edge scientific equipment that enables pioneering research and experimentation.
The college library is a treasure trove of information containing innumerable books, journals, and digital resources. It assists students in academic research, competitive examinations, and ordinary reading.
KCW offers a safe and spacious hostel with multiple room-sharing options: 2-in-1, 4-in-1 and 6-in-1. Nutritious food, a gym, beauty parlour, study areas, laundry, and 24 hours security are some of the perks of living at Student hostels.
A sprawling 15,500 sq. m. ground supports basketball, volleyball and football, besides 200m track. THE GRG Centenary Sports Arena is a 2,000-seater venue for indoor sports and events.
Institutes like the Rural Women Technology Park and BIRAC E-YUVA focus on skill training and entrepreneurship, especially of women, developing the attitude of innovation and real-world solutions among students.
Provision of Wi-Fi in the campus, in addition to the KCW ERP Portal, Digital Library, enables the students to manage the recourses, coursework and keep abreast of college activities.
