Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Collaborate with the security team to conduct penetration testing on systems and applications.
- Assist in identifying vulnerabilities and security risks in networks, software, and hardware.
- Conduct various types of penetration testing including network, web application, and social engineering testing.
- Document and report identified security issues and vulnerabilities.
- Work closely with security analysts to prioritize and address reported security issues.
- Contribute to improving security testing processes and procedures.
Requirements:
- Pursuing a degree in computer science, cybersecurity, information technology, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles and methodologies.
- Familiarity with penetration testing concepts and tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous exposure to cybersecurity practices through coursework, projects, or internships.
- Experience with penetration testing tools (e.g., Kali Linux, Metasploit, Burp Suite, etc.).
- Knowledge of networking protocols, web applications, and operating systems.
- Certifications such as CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker), and OSCP (Offensive Security Certified Professional) can be advantageous.
- Understanding of compliance standards (e.g., PCI DSS, HIPAA, etc.).
