JOB ROLE - CAFE PARTNER 

Responsibilities:

Food and Beverage Knowledge: Understanding the café's menu, including ingredients, preparation methods, and potential allergens, to assist customers and make recommendations.

Cash Handling: Processing payments accurately, handling cash, operating a point-of-sale (POS) system, and reconciling sales at the end of the shift.

Problem-Solving: Quickly resolving issues such as customer complaints, equipment malfunctions, or inventory shortages while maintaining a positive attitude.

Stress Management: Remaining calm and composed under pressure, especially during busy periods or when faced with challenging situations.

Adaptability: Being flexible and able to adapt to changing circumstances, such as menu changes, staffing shortages, or unexpected events.

Hygiene and Food Safety: Adhering to health and safety regulations, maintaining cleanliness in the café and kitchen areas, and following proper food handling procedures to prevent contamination.

Barista Skills (if applicable): Brewing coffee, preparing espresso-based drinks, steaming milk, and creating latte art, as well as knowledge of different coffee varieties and brewing methods.

Customer Service: Greeting customers, taking orders, and providing friendly and efficient service. This includes answering questions about menu items, making recommendations, and ensuring that customers have a positive experience.

Food and Beverage Preparation: Preparing and serving food and beverages according to café standards and recipes. This may include making espresso-based drinks, brewing coffee, preparing sandwiches or pastries, and ensuring that all items are presented attractively.

Cleaning and Maintenance: Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the café, including cleaning tables, countertops, equipment, and restocking supplies as needed. This also involves following cleaning schedules and procedures to ensure a safe and sanitary environment.

Stocking and Inventory Management: Monitoring inventory levels, restocking supplies, and rotating stock to ensure freshness. This includes ordering ingredients and supplies as needed, keeping track of inventory levels, and reporting any shortages or discrepancies to management.

Following Health and Safety Procedures: Adhering to health and safety regulations, including proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices. This involves following established procedures for food preparation, cleaning, and personal hygiene to prevent contamination and ensure customer safety.

Teamwork and Collaboration: Working cooperatively with other café staff to ensure smooth operations and excellent customer service. This includes communicating effectively with coworkers, assisting with tasks as needed, and supporting a positive work environment.

Upselling and Promotions: Promoting special offers, upselling additional items, and encouraging customers to try new menu items. This involves being knowledgeable about menu options and suggesting complementary items to enhance the customer experience.

Resolving Customer Issues: Addressing customer complaints or concerns promptly and professionally. This includes listening to customer feedback, apologizing for any issues, and taking appropriate action to resolve problems and ensure customer satisfaction.

Following Instructions and Policies: Following café policies and procedures, including dress code, safety guidelines, and operational protocols. This involves following instructions from management, adhering to established standards, and contributing to a positive work culture.
