The admission process in JSSATE is made up of two stages, first being the eligibility based on qualification and secondly, the selection based on entrance. The candidates will have to provide the marks in the following examinations, namely the KCET, COMEDK UGET, JEE Main, and GATE, according to the programme applied for. Minimum marks need to be scored by the applicant in the qualifying exam viz. 10+2/graduation and also in any one of the recognized entrance exams like KCET, COMEDK UGET, JEE Main, GATE, or management exams.

Criteria for B. Tech programmes

• 10 + 2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics
• Aggregate of at least 45% marks (for reserved categories, aggregate marks of at least 40%) 
• Minimum marks in KCET, COMEDK UGET, or JEE Main 

Criteria for M. Tech programmes

• B.E/B.Tech or equivalent in the respective branch
• At least 50% aggregate marks in graduation
• Valid GATE score or PGCET/state-level entrance exam score

Criteria for the MBA Programme

• Any graduation degree with a minimum 50% marks
• Valid CAT/CMAT/MAT/institute-approved entrance test scores

Criteria for M. CA programme

• Graduation in Mathematics, Statistics, and Computer Science, either at 10+2 or at the graduation level
• At least 50% marks aggregate in graduation

Criteria for PhD. Programme

• Master’s degree in a relevant discipline with a minimum 55% aggregate marks

JSSATE Bengaluru admission process can be seen to follow the following flow:

1. Eligibility Check & Course Selection – Determine which B.Tech, M.Tech, MBA, MCA, or PhD programme to pursue based on one’s 10+2 or graduation score and the corresponding entrance score range.
2. Take the entrance test –

• B.Tech: Give KCET, COMEDK UGET, or JEE Main.
• M.Tech: Give GATE or PGCET/state engineering entrance.

1. MBA/MCA: Give CAT/CMAT/MAT or any institute-specific tests.
2. Registration at the JSSATE portal – Register by completing the online application form on the JSSATE admissions website and uploading the necessary documents.
3. Application fee payment – Pay the requisite application fee via online medium (INR 1,000-2,500; varies with the course).
4. Rank list/cutoff wait time – Wait for the publication of the respective courses’ cut-off lists (based on entrance exams such as KCET, COMEDK, JEE Main, GATE, and more).
5. Counselling and seat allocation – Participate in JSSATE merit-based counselling and choose the preferred branch/campus.
6. Fee deposit and admissions – Deposit the first-year fees to confirm admission.
7. Document verification & reporting – Verify original documents and attend admission to report on admission day for August 2026. 

• KCET: Mandatory for admission in the BE/B.Tech course for those hailing from Karnataka domicile.
• COMEDK UGET: Mandatory for admission in the B.Tech course for those not hailing from Karnataka domicile.
• JEE MAIN: Required for admissions into B.Tech/Integrated B.Tech programs.
• GATE: Taken into account for admission to M.Tech and certain other postgraduate engineering disciplines.
• PGCET/Others: Mandatory for admission to M.Tech according to certain specializations.
• CAT/CMAT/MAT: Mandatory for admission to MBA programs (candidates are not restricted to just one).

• Marksheet of 10th & 12th/PUC 
• Graduation marksheet & degree certificate (for postgraduate courses)
• Entrance exam scorecard (KCET /COMEDK/JEE Main/ GATE/CAT equivalent)
• Caste/Income certificate (in case of SC/ST/OBCs/ESI/PH)
• Domicile certificate (state quota aspirants)
