About St. Mira’s College for Girls, Pune
St. Mira’s College is a constituent unit of the inspiring Mira Movement in Education; established in 1962, it was the first women's college to be affiliated with the University of Pune.
"We are fortunate to have as our patron saint, Saint Mira, who stands for Bhakti, Indian values, courage of conviction and rebellion for right. The spiritual Guru, mentor, and object of all our college ventures is the venerable Dada J.P. Vaswani. The college's managing committee is composed of accomplished, literati individuals who exhibit great concern for society and students.
St. Mira’s College is a one-of-a-kind proactive temple of learning. Our distinctive identity is providing inclusive education to women from diverse backgrounds, special-needs students, differently-abled students, first-generation learners, and those who come to us from different parts of the country and other countries around the world. In fifty five years of our academic endeavour we have grown from a fledgling college to one that has firmly stamped its name on the educational landscape of not just Pune but also India with numerous firsts to our credit –we were the first college under University of Pune to opt for NAAC; the first college in Pune to score a coveted 5 star rating; the first under our affiliating University to be declared The Best College in Pune. Recently, The Knowledge Review magazine listed St Mira’s as one of “The Best Private Institutes in India, November 2018”.
